| Nudity |
| Nudity |
The
unclothed human figure or a representation of it. Includes both full and partial
nudity. |
| Rating |
Definition |
| Very
Little |
The
movie may contain one or two brief "female upper," "partial," or
"male rear" scenes. |
| Some |
The
movie may contain two or three brief scenes involving nudity. |
| Abundant |
The
movie contains frequent and blatant nudity. One intense, close-up, graphic scene
involving nudity that is lingered on, could be considered "abundant." |
| Term |
Definition |
| Rear |
The
complete buttocks is shown. A thong bikini that covers nothing would fall in this
category. A "plumber's crack" or a very skimpily bikini would
probably be classified as "partial" nudity. |
| Upper |
Female
nipples are clearly visible. |
| Full |
Male
or female genitals are clearly visible. |
| Partial |
A
suggestion of nudity without showing nipples, genitals, or the complete rear end.
Partial nudity might include revealing clothing, the view through a translucent shower
door, or a naked person far enough in the distance that no details can be seen. |
| Cleavage |
Clothing
reveals a significant portion of female breasts without revealing nipples. Enough of
the breasts are visible that attention is drawn to them. A conservative viewer might
be offended, or a parent viewing the film with a child might feel uncomfortable. |
| Notes |
|
| Nudity
in Art |
Sometimes
nudity appears in animation, drawings, sculptures, or other artwork. In such cases
the review states what classification of nudity is involved (e.g. female upper) and adds
additional information about the nudity (e.g. drawing). The additional information
is only added, however, if there are no other scenes involving nudity with live people.
For example, if a film has a "female upper statue" scene and a
"female upper" live scene, then the designation would be simply "female
upper." |
